The "U" in NCT U stands for "united". NCT U is a "rotational group"; the members can change depending on the concept. This sub-unit debuted in August of 2016.

NCT 127
Basically the numbers of the sub-unit NCT 127 are the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea. This group has a set number of members, which is 10 (Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Win Win, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan. (Taeyong is the leader + Win Win is currently busy with the WayV unit so he is currently not promoting with 127). This group debuted on July 7, 2016.

NCT DREAM
NCT DREAM is a unit made up of the younger members that are under the age of 20. After the members reach the age limit, they graduate from the dream sub-unit and move to another. This group debuted on August 24, 2016 with 7 members: Mark (who has now graduated from this unit), Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung.

WayV
NCT has a Chinese sub-unit, and that is WayV. THis group debuted under SM Entertainment's China-exclusive label, Label V on January 17, 2019. It currently consists of 7 members: Kun, Ten, Win Win, Lucas, Xiaojun, Hendery, and YangYang.
